Integrity - Honesty - Creativity - Reliability
These four concepts are what guide ALL of our decisions when it comes to Midnight Oil Sscrapbook Designs (MOSD). We feel this is what sets us apart in a very competitive industry. There have been several instances that we have made decision that cost us more money or take us more time to bring a product to market because of these values. We also have a guaranteed ship date for all stock orders. What this means to you, our customer is that your order will ship complete with no backorders on the date we promise or your entire order is free. Why is this important - because many of you are relying on our products for classes and promotions. If we backorder or ship late it effects your business. So we not only worry about our bottom line and our reputation but we also worry about your bottom line and your reputation.
About Christy and Ali
MOSD started as a fledging partnership in the homes of two women who had never met eachother. Christy and Ali were both members of Scrapbiz with their
own retail businesses.
At that time one of the companies was
producing 'transparent' products - quote books, slide mount inserts and the like and the other company
specialized in custom paper piecing. One day in mid 2005 Christy
emailed Ali and said 'hey will you make me a custom transparency that
says Celebrating that I can overlay a cut title that says Freedom'. Ali
said 'sure no problem' - then they started talking, then they starting
becoming friends, and soon MOSD was born with the natural combination
of transparencies overlaying paper piecings aka: 'Stackers' .
So here is the strangest part of this whole story. Chrsity and Ali became
business partners, invested money, and started this fantastic company
without ever meeting eachother face to face. In fact the first year
of business they didn't even talk on the phone. They did everything via
email and chat. Ali still has some of their original chat transcripts
(yes she saves everything - it makes Christy crazy!) and they are really
pretty funny. Christy and Ali had been in business together with the release of
almost 100 products for a year before they ever met face to
face in February of 2006. And you know what - they have only seen eachother one other time since then. Although they do talk on the phone
regularly now and conduct most of their business via email and the
phone instead of chat.
